Moscow 2002, Larisa Dolina along with Igor Butman Big Band launched an exciting musical project – “Carnival of Jazz”. The Premiere of "Carnival of Jazz" took place at the Rossyia Concert Hall in April 2002 and became one of the most significant musical events of the year.  Musicians had a triumphant concert tour with “Carnival of Jazz” having full houses not only in Russia but also in the USA, Germany and Israel. “A brilliant cooperation of two stars, infinitely loving jazz and mastering all facets of jazz improvisation with an amazing skill, as if they could read each other’s mind,” musical critics from all over the world said. “Carnival of Jazz” was nominated for the State Award in the field of culture and arts.

Six years after the premiere of the first "Carnival of Jazz" Larisa Dolina and Igor Butman have decided to work together on another project "Carnival of Jazz-2.  No comments".  The show featured a retrospective of world jazz hits previously performed by superstars Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald including “How High the Moon”, “I Can't Give You Anything But Love”, “Mister Paganini” and “Fever”.

The show was presented to enthusiastic St. Petersburg’s audience; the northern capital of Russia had never seen a jazz show of such a great level.  After the performance the artists received a long-lasting standing ovation from the spectators.

In June of 2008 Larisa Dolina and Igor Butman presented their “Carnival of Jazz” at the 6th Annual Russian Heritage Festival in New York City. Sophisticated American audience welcomed the show with a standing ovation. “The Festival gave New Yorkers the unique chance to see Russia’s brightest and the most enduring jazz stars perform,” musical critics wrote.

They repeated their triumph again in Saint Petersburg – a few hours of live sound, internationally acclaimed great compositions of great composers - it became a real Jazz Festival on the Neva river banks.

Now everyone has the opportunity to watch and listen to this inimitable show. Deluxe edition of the album contains a Double CD with the live concert sound and a DVD with a video-version of the show, which helps to experience the atmosphere of jazz improvisation and breathtaking energy. This edition is also unique because of its rare backstage bonus video recorded at performances and rehearsals, which took place in Saint Petersburg, New York and other cities of the world.

As Larisa Dolina says about the album: “Carnival of Jazz in Saint Petersburg” is not just our gift for connoisseurs, it is really good music and outstanding melodies! But above all is crazy energy!”
