19th International Festival Triumph of Jazz

For 19 years, the Triumph of Jazz Festival has successfully presented the greatest jazz musicians of our time to the Russian public. Since 2001, the Festival featured more than a hundred of these legends: Bill Evans, McCoy Tyner, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dave Holland, Gary Burton, Lee Konitz, Lee Ritenour, Roy Heinz, Toots Thielemans, Billy Cobham, Gino Vannelli, Gary Bartz, Elvin Jones, Ahmad Jamal, Randy Brecker, Mike Stern, the group TAKE 6, Bob James, Roy Hargrove and many others.

 

 
 
In 2019 the concerts of Triumph of Jazz will be held in three cities: March 13 in St. Petersburg (Gorky House of Culture), March 14 in Tula (Tula Philharmonic), from 15 to 17 March in Moscow (Moscow International House of Music, Igor Butman Jazz Club), and the headliners of the festival will be Robert Glasper (USA), Richard Bona (USA), Igor Butman and Moscow Jazz Orchestra. Also Laurin Talese (USA), Nils Wulker (Germany), Ivanov Vibe Band, Sasha Machine Outsidethebox, Evgeny Pobozhiy Band, Quartet and Quintet of Igor Butman with the participation of Oleg Akkuratov will perform on the Festival.
 
The festival will include the 5th festival competition Children's Triumph of Jazz, a gala concert will be held on March 15 on the stage of Moscow International House of Music.
 
March 15 at the Svetlanov hall of the Moscow International House of Music will perform trio of Robert Glasper (USA), Igor Butman Quartet and Ivanov Vibe band of Innokenty Ivanov.
 
On March 16, the festival program will be presented by Richard Bona and his band (USA), Sasha Mashin Outsidethebox and Igor Butman Quintet with the participation of Oleg Akkuratov.
 
On March 17, the final chord of the festival will be the performance of Nils Wulker (Germany), Evgeny Pobozhiy Band, Igor Butman’s Moscow Jazz Orchestra vocalist Laurin Talese (USA).

The Moscow Jazz Orchestra will kick off the anniversary year with a tour in the US!

The year of 2019 will become a special one for Moscow Jazz Orchestra - next year the band will celebrate its 20th anniversary! The first series of jubilee events will take place in Cincinnati, New York and LA in the coming January!
