Jazz Across Borders Forum&Festival to be held in Russia for the first time!
Ministry for Culture of Russia, the VI St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum and the Igor Butman Music Group present the first international Jazz Across Borders forum&festival!
Jazz Across Borders (JAB), the first international jazz forum&festival in Russia, will be held on November 17 and 18, 2017 at the State Academic Chapel within the 6th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum!
Saint Petersburg, the Northern capital of Russia and the most popular tourist destination in Europe (according to World Travel Awards), will host the first jazz conference in the history of Russia! Don't miss your chance to meet leaders of the Russian and international jazz market!
Jazz Across Borders or simply JAB will become the first professional platform in Russian history designed to assemble international and Russian jazz community representatives, and will provide Russian and foreign musicians with a unique opportunity to present their music to the leading producers of the jazz world.
The JAB program is divided into 4 parts: the JAB Conference – a business constituent that includes panel discussions, roundtables and clinics of the industry representatives. The members of the JAB will discuss current problems and trends in the industry, ways to promote foreign jazz artists in Russia and Russian artists abroad, organizing tours in Russia and many other topics.
The JAB Showcases – a showcase festival, which gives Russian and foreign jazz performers an opportunity to show their music to a wide circle of Russian and foreign music industry professionals (promoters, program directors of festivals, clubs, representatives of labels, journalists, etc).
The Jazz Club night – evening and night musical program at jazz clubs of St. Petersburg, and, last but not least, the JAB Gala – the gala concert featuring legendary jazzmen – Kurt Elling, Igor Butman and the Moscow Jazz Orchestra, that will take place on the stage of the Main Hall of the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg.
The JAB forum&festival will be held annually and starting with next year its program will include an exhibition as well.

The first JAB forum&festival will gather the elite of world jazz community in St. Petersburg. Among the confirmed business programme participants is one of the best singers in the world Kurt Elling, pianist and musical director of International Jazz Day John Beasley, Simon Cooke (managing director of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, London), Jae Jin In (creator and producer of the Jarasum Jazz Festival, South Korea), Peter Gontha (creator and producer of the Java Jazz Festival), Carlo Pagnotta (creator and producer of the Umbria Jazz Festival), Lee Mergner (publisher of JazzTimes magazine), Larry Simpson (vice-president of the Berklee College of Music), Jana Herzen (founder and president of Motema Music), and many others.
